HS Social Studies + Coaching!

Douglass USD 396 is accepting applications for a High School Social Studies teacher with coaching consideration. Current classes offered in the position are AP Government and American History. Coaching positions include Assistant Football, Assistant Basketball, Assistant Wrestling. 

 Teaching Responsibilities (not limited to):

1. Teacher oversees safe and orderly classrooms
2. ensures student achievement for all student groups
3. building positive school/community relations
4. leads the students in developing constructive peer and student/teacher relations
5. oversees effective and efficient student performance; practices responsible fiscal, facility and resource management
6. models positive professional attributes.

Teaching Requirements:

1. A valid building level/subject area license issued by the Kansas State Board of education.  
2. Ability to work cooperatively and constructively with others, including the ability to communicate effectively with a broad number of audiences. 
3. Ability to manage job responsibilities and meet the established district outcomes.  
4. Ability to use district-identified computer hardware and software, and other district-provided technology as needed.  
5. Ability to physically adapt to the compressed time schedule of a school day and year.
