Uniontown is looking to hire an athletic director/ assistant principal for the 25-26 school year.  We are looking for an organized and collaborative leader with high expectations of students and staff who wants to make a positive difference in lives, culture, and processes here in SE Kansas.

A current KS Building-level Leadership License is preferred but those willing/able to fulfill the athletic director responsibilities would be considered even if they don't hold that licensure.

This position could also include head coaching responsibilities.  Uniontown currently has HS Head coaching openings in both Football and Volleyball.

Professional qualifications should include the ability to create and maintain positive relationships, facilitate an effective learning and extracurricular climate, and use data to inform decisions being made.  The applicant must possess the ability to build trust and communication with staff, students, and the board of education.

Uniontown USD 235 is a rural school district of 487 students from Pre-K through 12th grade.  Uniontown is located just south of Highway 54, fifteen miles west of Fort Scott and 25 miles east of Iola. Uniontown has a National Blue Ribbon Award-winning PK-6th grade elementary school with 280 students currently enrolled.  The JH/HS building had 207 enrolled students in 2021-22.  Both the elementary and JH/HS buildings have strong academic programs. Uniontown is a very good location due to its distance from larger cities such as Pittsburg, Fort Scott, Kansas City, and Joplin.

The technology used in the district includes a 1:1 initiative in grades K-12.  PK-3 students use iPads while grades 4-8 students use Chromebooks and 9-12 students have personal laptops.

Extracurricular activities include a full offering of sports including football, cross country, volleyball, wrestling, basketball, baseball, softball, and track. Non-athletic activities include cheerleading, forensics, scholars bowl, band, vocal, and FFA.

The district sets high standards for its students and has programs in place to help ALL students succeed.
