As the FFA Sponsor, the teacher will lead the chapters activities, inspiring students to develop leadership skills, participate in competitions, and explore career opportunities in agriculture. Primary PurposeProvide students with engaging learning experiences and hands-on activities in agricultural science and related fields to help them develop skills and competencies for success in the agriculture industry and society. Serve as the FFA sponsor, guiding students in leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
QualificationsEducation/Certification(s)/License(s): Bachelors degree in Agriculture Education or a related field from an accredited university. Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate Agriculture endorsements required. Special Knowledge/Skills: Comprehensive knowledge of agricultural science, technology, and practices, including animal science, plant science, agribusiness, and mechanics and fabrication. Ability to develop and deliver curriculum aligned with Kansas agricultural standards. Proficiency in hands-on instruction and integrating technology into the agricultural classroom. Ability to manage student behavior and foster a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, including: Effective verbal communication with diverse audiences. Strong writing skills for clear and professional correspondence. Quick and effective decision-making in dynamic situations. Ability to manage responsibilities and meet deadlines. Capacity to collaborate constructively and professionally with colleagues and community members. Experience: Experience teaching agriculture or related fields preferred. Experience as an FFA member or sponsor is strongly preferred.
