Position Overview

The Director of Academic Support and Assessment is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring academic support systems, state and local testing programs, instructional technology systems and data integration, and compliance with state and federal reporting requirements. The Director works collaboratively with building administrators and teachers to promote the effective use of data to improve instruction and coordinate support services that enhance student learning and growth.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Align district curriculum to state standards.
  • Lead the use of assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.
  • Coordinate all district, state, and federal testing programs; manage the district assessment calendar.
  • Oversee instructional technology and online assessment systems (such as FastBridge, iReady, and IXL), ensuring they are effectively used, maintained, and updated.
  • Facilitate Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and participate in data talks and collaboration with school teams.
  • Support professional development, including New Teacher Orientation and the mentor/mentee program, while serving as an active member of the Professional Development Council (PDC).
  • Partner with Reading Specialists on literacy initiatives (including LETRS).
  • Collaborate with Career Technical Education (CTE) staff for program alignment and Perkins compliance.
  • Serve as district liaison for McKinney Vento and Foster Care services.
  • Advance student outcomes through program implementation, funding access, and compliance of The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree in Education or Educational Leadership.
  • Kansas building and or district-level leadership license.
  • Strong knowledge of state standards, assessment systems, and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative leadership skills.

Preferred:

  • Instructional leadership experience.
  • Experience with accessing resources, implementing federal and state education programs.
  • Experience with grant administration and reporting.

About our District:

Renwick USD 267 includes students from Andale, Colwich, Garden Plain, and St. Marks. The district office is located in Andale. Six schools including two high schools and four elementary/middle schools serve approximately 2000 students. The schools are as follows:

High Schools (Grades 9–12)

Andale High School in Andale

Garden Plain High School in Garden Plain 

Elementary / Middle Schools (PreK – 8)

Andale Elementary School (PreK–8) 

Colwich Elementary School (PreK–8) 

Garden Plain Elementary School (PreK–8) 

St. Marks School (K–8 in the St. Marks area)

Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with Board policy for administrative personnel.

Contract: 11 months
