1:1 Social-Emotional Support Paraprofessional – Baldwin High School

Position Overview
ECKCE is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated 1:1 Social-Emotional Support Paraprofessional to work with a high school student requiring individualized support throughout the school day. This role focuses on helping the student develop social-emotional skills, remain regulated and engaged in learning, and successfully navigate the academic and social demands of the high school environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, one-on-one support to a designated student throughout the school day

• Assist the student with emotional regulation, coping strategies, and stress management

• Coach and model positive social interactions, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Implement behavior support plans and interventions as directed

• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and related service providers to ensure consistent support

• Support the student in accessing academic instruction and school activities

• Collect observational data and communicate progress to the student's team

• Maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and positive rapport

• Experience working with adolescents in a school, youth program, or similar setting strongly preferred.

• Ability to remain calm, supportive, and solutions-focused in challenging situations

• Strong interpersonal communication skills and a student-centered approach

• Willingness to learn and implement evidence-based strategies and supports
