Position Title: Elementary Paraprofessional Student Support (Health & Academic)

Location: Wellsville Elementary, Wellsville USD 289Start Date: August 12, 2025Employment Type: Part-Time, 4 hours daily Monday - FridaySalary: Level 3 Pay - Based on ECKCE paraprofessional pay scale

Position Overview:ECKCE is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated paraprofessional to provide individualized support to an elementary student with health, functional and academic needs. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in a child's school experience by promoting independence, learning, and well-being within a supportive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to a student throughout the school day, including academic assistance and health-related monitoring or care.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher, school nurse, and special education staff to implement accommodations, modifications, and health protocols.
  • Assist with academic tasks including instruction, assignments, and classroom participation.
  • Ensure student safety and access to learning across school settings (classroom, playground, lunchroom, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate records and communication logs as required.
  • Support the development of the student's independence and self-advocacy skills.
  • Participate in relevant training related to the student's medical and educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma; associate's degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting strongly preferred.
  • Ability to follow health care plans and accommodate medical needs as trained by school personnel or licensed professionals.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and safety procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • Position requires physical activity, including assisting with mobility or medical equipment.
  • Training will be provided for specific health-related procedures or equipment as needed.
  • Daily work within classroom and school environments, supporting transitions throughout the day.
