The school nurse tends to all students with medical needs in our district. The home base office resides at the elementary school and they commute to and from the Junior/Senior High School as needed. The school nurse is responsible for duties such as inputting all students health needs in the Power School system. The nurse performs vision, dental and hearing checks. Monitors diabetic students and works with lunch staff on dietary needs for individual students. The nurse communicates regularly with parents on students' health needs. Complete the state requirements for hands on CPR. Educate students on health and puberty needs. Tend to students students for accidents, health concerns, and minor bumps and bruises.  Must have a current nursing license

Employer Information

As of November 2021, Cimarron Junior High and Senior High School served approximately 300 students in grades 7-12, and the Elementary School served approximately 290 in grades PreK-6. In addition, USD 102 has teachers and a full complement of support of classified staff.

Cimarron has a strong tradition of high academic standards and outstanding athletic programs, which include football, volleyball, cross country, wrestling, basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, softball, and track. In addition, USD 102 is fortunate to enjoy support from the community in all efforts to make positive differences in students` lives.

Our 4th-10th grade students are  1-to-1 with Chromebooks, juniors and seniors with MacBooks. 

In 2013, the patrons of USD 102 passed a $5.3 million addition to the grade school building. In addition, the bond passed 85% to 15%. This indicates the overwhelming support for education enjoyed by all employees of USD 102.

USD 102 is a Southwest Plains Regional Service Center (SWPRSC) member and the Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative District #613 (SKACD #613).  Teachers receive professional development through SWPRSC, while special education students are served via the SKACD organization.
