Job Title: Weights Teacher / Strength Training Instructor

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Hugoton High School

Position Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Weights Teacher to lead our strength training program and educate students on proper weight training techniques. This role involves instructing individuals or groups on effective workouts, promoting fitness and wellness, and ensuring safety during exercise. The ideal candidate will be passionate about health, fitness, and helping others achieve their personal fitness goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct group or individual weight training classes, focusing on proper form, technique, and progressive strength development.

 

Design and deliver customized workout plans for students of varying fitness levels.

 

Educate students on the benefits of strength training and how it contributes to overall physical health and fitness.

 

Demonstrate proper use of weightlifting equipment, including dumbbells, barbells, and machines.

 

Monitor students during exercises to ensure safety and provide feedback to improve form and technique.

 

Motivate and encourage students to reach their fitness goals and build self-confidence.

 

Provide modifications for students with physical limitations or special fitness needs.

 

Maintain a safe and clean training environment, ensuring all equipment is used correctly and in good condition.

 

Track student progress and offer guidance on achieving short- and long-term fitness goals.

 

Stay updated on fitness trends and advancements in strength training methods.

 

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere within all fitness classes.

 

Qualifications:

Certification in strength training, personal training, or related fitness field (e.g., NASM, ACE, or CSCS).

 

Proven experience in teaching weight training or strength-based fitness classes.

 

Strong knowledge of anatomy, exercise physiology, and fitness programming.

 

Ability to communicate clearly and motivate others.

 

CPR/AED certification preferred.

 

Passion for fitness and helping others improve their health and well-being.

 

Ability to adapt and modify workouts for different fitness levels and abilities.

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience in one-on-one personal training.

 

Group fitness instructor certification (e.g., AFAA, ACE Group Fitness).

 

Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and structure classes.

 

Physical Requirements:

Ability to demonstrate strength training exercises.

 

Ability to stand, walk, and lift weights for extended periods.

 

Compensation: Based on qualifications and experience.
