School District Engagement Specialist

The School District Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping the district's image and strengthening the bonds between the district, its students, and the broader community. This position requires a creative and strategic thinker who is passionate about education and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Website and Social Media Management: Maintain and update the district's website with current news, resources, and information. Manage and oversee the district's social media profiles, ensuring consistent, engaging, and timely content.

  

Social Media Expansion: Develop and implement strategies to expand the district's presence on various social media platforms. Identify new trends and platforms that can enhance the district's visibility and engagement.

  

Content Creation: Produce compelling human interest pieces that promote the district and highlight its programs, projects, and successes. Create content that resonates with different stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, and the community.

  

Community Engagement: Increase community engagement through innovative communication strategies and events. Foster relationships with community partners, organizations, and media to promote district initiatives and achievements.

  

Student Interaction: Work directly with students to teach communication and engagement strategies. Involve students in real-world projects related to media, communication, and community engagement to enhance their skills and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Education or a related field.

- Experience in educational settings or working directly with students -or-

- At least 3 years of experience in a communication, public relations, or engagement role, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.

- Proven track record of managing websites and social media platforms, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.

- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to produce content for various formats and audiences.

- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and community members.

- Familiarity with graphic design and video editing software.
