JH Reading Teacher (6th - 8th grades)

• Instruction: Deliver individualized or small-group instruction to students struggling with reading proficiency, using research-based methods.
• Assessment: Conduct diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust interventions.
• Curriculum Development: Implement district-adopted reading curriculum and create engaging lessons that follow state standards.
• Science of Reading: Deep understanding of the Science of Reading and Structured Literacy.
  
• Collaboration: Work with classroom teachers, special education staff, and parents to support literacy goals.
• Support Services: Implement Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) for reading.
• Environment: Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  
  Qualifications:
• Valid Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) teaching license with appropriate reading or English Language Arts endorsement.
• Strong understanding of literacy instruction, data analysis, and classroom management.

 Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
