K-12 Art Teacher

Golden Plains Schools is seeking a K-12 art teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will teach a variety of art courses and can be full or part-time. 

Applicants should have experience with a variety of art mediums and digital tools. A degree in art education or related field is preferred. Transition to Teach candidates, other teaching licenses, and substitute licenses will also be considered. 

Coaching and sponsorship supplementals are available.

Benefits Information

USD 316 pays a full, single BCBS health insurance policy. 

Teachers are provided 13 discretionary days per school year. 

Salary Information

Salary is per the negotiated agreement. Base for the 2024-2025 school year is $40,070.

Golden Plains USD 316 provides a quality education to approximately 150 students in northwest Kansas. Golden Plains operates two school buildings: Golden Plains Elementary (preschool - 5th) in Selden and Golden Plains Middle/High School (6th - 12th) in Rexford. Little Paws Daycare in Selden is also operated by the school district. 

Golden Plains has a welcoming and accepting environment where students from diverse backgrounds find encouragement and belonging. We pride ourselves on having high academic standards for all students. Our committed and experienced staff is currently working with Kansas MTSS. We have full implementation of MTSS reading and behavior social emotional learning (BSEL) support and a plan for implementation of math. 

Golden Plains has a district wide 1:1 initiative. Our preschool - 1st grade students use ipads, and our 2nd -12th grade students utilize chromebooks. In addition to the required course work, our district offers many elective course opportunities and a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
