Technology Teacher

The Technology Teacher is responsible for providing instruction in technology and computer science to students at various grade levels. The teacher will create engaging lesson plans, deliver educational content, and assess student performance while fostering a positive learning environment. The role includes staying updated with current technology trends and integrating new tools into the curriculum to prepare students for the digital world.

Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Delivery:

Develop and implement technology and computer science curriculum aligned with state and national standards.

Teach courses in computer science, coding, digital literacy, and other technology-related subjects.

Use a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Curriculum Development:

Design lesson plans that incorporate hands-on activities, projects, and real-world applications.

Update and adapt curriculum to reflect the latest technological advancements and educational best practices.

Integrate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) concepts into technology lessons.

Student Assessment:

Evaluate and assess student progress through tests, projects, and other assessment tools.

Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date grade records.

Classroom Management:

Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and learning.

Manage classroom behavior and maintain discipline according to school policies.

Ensure the safety and proper use of technology equipment and resources.

Professional Development:

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with new technologies and teaching methods.

Collaborate with colleagues to share resources and strategies for effective technology instruction.

Attend school meetings, events, and parent-teacher conferences as required.

Technology Integration:

Support students and staff in using technology effectively for educational purposes.

Troubleshoot and assist with basic technical issues related to classroom technology.

Advocate for the use of technology to enhance learning and productivity.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree preferably in Education, Computer Science, Information Technology, willing to provide training and courses for certification

Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred. Experience in technology-related fields is a plus.

$5100 fringe

Salary Information

Salary will be based on experience and qualifications, as outlined in the USD 241 Negotiated Agreement. The base salary for the 2023-2024 school year is $44,400 plus benefits. Tuition reimbursement is available for teachers as well.
