Elementary Principal / Lead TeacherNess City USD 303 • www.nesscityschools.org Ness City Schools is seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to serve as Principal/Lead Teacher (title and compensation dependent upon licensure) for the 2025-2026 school year. Admin position will initially be part-time with possibility of full-time in future school years. Full-time employment for the 2025-2026 school year may be possible in conjunction with part-time teaching. The Principal/Lead Teacher will be responsible for fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-achieving learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to educational excellence, and the ability to collaborate with staff, students, families, and the community. Employer Information Ness City Schools offer services to students in speech, counseling, special education, gifted education, Title I and health services. The elementary school offers Art, Physical Education, Music and Band in addition to the regular classroom academic curriculum. Both the Accelerated Reader and Math programs are utilized in the elementary. Utilization of para-professionals and additional staff help keep student/staff ratio at a minimal level.
Ness City High School offers classes in Art, Industrial Arts, Vocational Agriculture, Science, Family and Consumer Sciences, Spanish, Biology, Business, Physical Education, Language Arts, Mathematics and Social Sciences.
Ness City has an aggressive technology growth plan. We have integrated a 1 to 1 chromebook plan with all K-12 students. Additionally, students have access to iPads and PC systems in different classroom settings. We believe that we have a duty to prepare our students for their future, and that future will rely on their ability to utilize technology regardless of the job they are working in. Google Apps for Education plays a big role in in our technology plan. Many of our classrooms utilize Google Classroom to organize and deliver assignments and content.
Students in high school have excelled in various ways. Extra curricular programs include FFA, FCCLA, KAYS, Student Council, art, music, band, forensics, scholars` bowl and academic teams. Athletics offered include football, volleyball, cross country, basketball, track and golf. Junior high activities include music, band, scholars` bowl, football, volleyball, cross country, basketball and track. We are a member of the Central Prairie League.
Ness City is a town of approximately 1500 and serves as the county seat. It is a community with many entities which include a furniture store, grocery store, two convenience stores, gas stations, bowling alley, family restaurants, five churches, auto mechanics, lumber yard and hardware store. There are also several independent businesses that provide different services, shopping an dother needs of the community. Health services include a county hospital, medical clinics, senior complex and pharmacy store. The economy is a mixture of agriculture and oil production. Ness City is located 65 miles from Hays, Great Bend and Dodge City and 35 minutes from Cedar Bluff Reservioir which offers camping, fishing, hunting, boating and other recreational activity.
USD 303 Recreation Commission offers seasonal and year-round activities for all ages. Ness City Public Library serves the area and offers children`s programs throughout the year.
