Position Type: Full-Time, Certified Teaching Position
Caney Valley Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our secondary team. This position will primarily teach Freshman Physical Science and Earth & Space Science, with the possibility of also teaching Junior High Science based on student enrollment and scheduling needs.
Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction in Physical Science and Earth & Space Science

Potentially teach Junior High Science courses as assigned

Develop and implement lesson plans that promote inquiry, critical thinking, and real-world application

Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners

Assess and monitor student progress and provide timely feedback

Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment

Collaborate with colleagues in curriculum planning and school improvement efforts

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Participate in school activities, meetings, and professional development
Qualifications:

Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate Science endorsement (or ability to obtain) (K-9 preferred)

Strong content knowledge in Physical Science and/or Earth & Space Science

Ability and willingness to work with both junior high and high school students

Effective classroom management and organizational skills

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Commitment to student success and continuous professional growth
Preferred Qualities:

Experience teaching middle school and/or high school science
-
Familiarity with hands-on labs, inquiry-based learning, and technology integration

Enthusiasm for building positive relationships with students
