Position Overview:
The Virtual and Alternative Teacher will work with students in grades 6-12 and adult learners in both virtual and in-person settings, providing a personalized educational experience that adheres to district rules, procedures, and policies. The role requires fostering a positive and engaging learning environment while overseeing students enrolled in Eudora Schools Virtual Learning (ESVL). Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Education or a related field. Kansas teaching certification for grades 6-12. Proven experience in virtual teaching and/or familiarity with online learning platforms is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in virtual and in-person settings. Technological proficiency and adaptability to new tools and platforms. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Development: Analyze and adapt lesson plans for online and in-person delivery, ensuring alignment with state standards and district objectives. Instructional Delivery: Provide high-quality instruction using diverse teaching methods and technologies to ensure student engagement and comprehension. Assessment, Grading, and Feedback: Implement regular assessments to evaluate student progress. Offer timely, constructive feedback on assignments and assessments. Monitor academic integrity and originality in student work. Individualized Support: Address each students unique learning needs and challenges with tailored support. Provide resources and guidance to aid in understanding complex concepts. Classroom Management: Establish and enforce clear rules and expectations in both virtual and in-person environments. Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Parent and Guardian Engagement: Foster collaboration with parents to support student success. Communicate regularly about student progress, challenges, and achievements. Technology Integration: Utilize and integrate educational technology tools to enhance the learning experience. Stay updated on new platforms and tools to maintain engagement and innovation in instruction. Additional Expectations: Serve as a mentor and advocate for students navigating unique academic challenges. Maintain detailed records of student progress and participation.
