Perry-Lecompton Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a certified middle school/high school art position. Applicants must hold a current Kansas teaching license with the appropriate endorsement for this position or willing to obtain the endorsement by passing the Praxis exam within two years. This position will have 1 section of 5th Grade, 1 section of 6th Grade, 3 sections of 7th/8th Art, and 1 section of High School Art. The section of High School Art will be an elective based on the successful candidates interest. Our middle school and high school are in the same complex (but in different wings). Each classroom in the building is equipped with a Promethean board, and each teacher is issued a classroom desktop computer and/or a laptop, plus an iPad for teaching and administrative tasks. USD 343 is a 1:1 iPad district. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using technology for instruction and communication with minimal support.
