K-12 Physical Education w/ 4-day week; potential AD duties

Argonia USD 359 has an opening for a K-12 Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-26 school year.  The teacher would have duties at both Argonia Elementary School (K-5 PE) and Argonia Junior-Senior High School (6-12 PE). If the successful candidate is interested, the position could also include district Activity Director duties.

Students are on a four-day week with attendance on Tuesday through Friday; teachers attend an average of one Monday per month for in-services or conferences. Coaching and other supplemental positions may be available.

1.  The district has a successful history working with Transition to Teaching candidates or those desiring to add additional endorsements to their current license.
2. Sunflower Station daycare center is onsite with all staff receiving the benefit of discounted rates. 
3. The district pays a portion of the KPERS penalty for retired applicants.
4. All secondary students are 1:1 with either Chromebooks (6th - 8th grades) or Laptops (High School).
5. Being located in Sumner County, all teachers receive yearly stipends from the Kansas Star Casino to purchase classroom materials.
6. Additional stipends available for teachers willing to add offsite students to their class using distance learning. 

Interviews will be scheduled and conducted upon receipt of completed files; position will be filled as soon as a qualified applicant is available.
