Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, student-centered leader to serve as Principal of Oxford Jr/Sr High School. The ideal candidate will be deeply committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community, while leading a culture of excellence, inclusion, and opportunity. This leader will guide our school in doing whatever it takes to ensure every student leaves prepared and confident for life after high school. Key Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Champion high-quality teaching and learning aligned with state standards and local goals. Use data to guide instructional decisions that support academic growth and post-secondary readiness. Support teachers through coaching, professional development, and collaborative goal-setting. Culture & Climate Foster a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students, staff, parents, and patrons. Model and promote respect, empathy, and integrity throughout the school community. Celebrate student and staff achievements regularly, reinforcing a culture of pride and belonging. Collaboration Across Schools Work closely with the elementary principal and staff to create a cohesive, district-wide approach to student growth and learning. Support smooth academic and social transitions from elementary to high school. Collaborate on shared initiatives that promote consistent expectations, culture, and community engagement across grade levels. Community & Relationships Build strong partnerships with parents, local businesses, and community organizations. Communicate openly and have transparency with all stakeholders Actively engage in community events and initiatives that connect school and town life. Student Success & Support Lead initiatives that expand post-secondary opportunities including college readiness, career and technical education, and life skills development. Ensure equitable access to academic, extracurricular, and support services for all students. Work closely with counselors and teachers to create personalized pathways for every student. Operations & Management Oversee daily school operations, scheduling, staffing, and budgeting. Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and safety procedures. Collaborate with district leadership to advance strategic goals. Benefits Information Single health insurance, cell phone compensation Salary Information Determined on experience Employer Information Oxford USD 358 is located in Sumner County, 9 miles from the Kansas Turnpike on highway 160 between Winfield and Wellington, just 40 minutes south of Wichita. The district encompasses 136 square miles and includes the towns of Gueda Springs and Oxford. District enrollment is approximately 400 students. Oxford Elementary School houses grades Prk-6, Oxford JH/HS has grades 7-12. The district also has a virtual school, Oxford Online, for students in grades 3-12 with an average enrollment of 55 students. Special education services are provided through the 619 interlocal based in Wellington. The district has a strong focus on STEAM, CTE, and project based learning. The 1A high school offers a variety of programs for students including major sports, FFA, NHS, KAY, and Student Council. High School students have dual credit opportunities with area post-secondary institutions. Our families and community support our schools and students second to none. USD 358 just completed a Bond Project which is added additional classrooms, FEMA storm shelters, and remodeled the Fine Arts and Career and Technical Education building. We have a 1-1 IPAD implementation K-12, MacBooks and IPADS for all teachers. Smart TV`s with Apple TVs are in all classrooms. USD 358 has a school run daycare for the staff.
