Elementary Physical Education Teacher

Position Overview:
Our district is seeking a highly motivated and organized Elementary Physical Education (PE) Teacher to serve students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. This position provides daily PE instruction for every grade level, making it a central and essential part of our school experience. The ideal candidate is collaborative, student-centered, and committed to promoting physical health, teamwork, and positive character development.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate daily PE instruction for all K6 students.

Develop and implement a structured, standards-aligned PE curriculum focused on physical fitness, motor skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Maintain a highly organized classroom environment, including equipment management, lesson planning, and daily scheduling.

Work closely and cooperatively with classroom teachers, support staff, and administration to support whole-child development.

Adapt activities to meet diverse student needs and abilities, ensuring all students can participate safely and meaningfully.

Track participation, progress, and student needs; communicate concerns or successes with staff and families as needed.

Promote a positive, encouraging atmosphere where students feel supported, safe, and motivated.

Assist with school-wide events, wellness initiatives, and extracurricular activities when appropriate.

Uphold all district policies regarding student safety, supervision, and professional conduct.

Qualifications:

Valid teaching license with an endorsement in Physical Education (or ability to obtain).

Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a fast-paced daily schedule.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Commitment to fostering healthy habits and a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
