Horizon Academy is Kansas City's only private, fully accredited school for students in grades 1-12 with learning disabilities. Our teachers equip students to become lifelong learners by using the Orton-Gillingham Approach to reading and the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning’s evidence-based strategies. We focus on the whole child and include instruction in social skills and self-advocacy. With a low student to teacher ratio in each classroom, Horizon Academy students receive the individual attention they need in a quiet learning environment designed for student success.
