Founded in 1935, Dodge City Community College moved to its present 145-acre site at the northwest edge of Dodge City in 1970.  The college also has an Adult Learning Center and three Outreach Centers.  Several post-secondary education components of the Area Vocational Technical School transferred to the College in 1988.  In 1994, the College was designated as an Area Technical Center. 

Dodge City Community College is accredited by North Central Associations of Colleges and Schools.  DCCC is a comprehensive community college which operates with an open door admissions policy and serves a nine county region.  The College recognizes the existence of individual learning styles and is committed to providing quality instructional programs, student support services, and affordable lifelong learning opportunities.  The spectrum of learning opportunities include academic transfer, vocational-technical, general studies, student development, transitional education, business and industry customized training and community enrichment.
