Elyria Christian School

The mission of Elyria Christian School is to provide a Christian education that excels in spiritual and academic instruction. We view the opportunity to educate children as a sacred trust given of God. We are dedicated to the spiritual welfare and education of students, teachers, administrators, and parents. We are equipping students with the necessary tools to make them a competitive force in today’s world, as well as a spiritual success today and tomorrow. 

Elyria Christian School is a 1A school with a student population of 212 in grades PreK-12.  ECS was founded in 1982 by a small group of families that had as their number one priority the spiritual and character development of their children. The school began with only 22 students in grades K-8. The school has expanded to K-12 and has grown from a staff of 3 to the current level of more than 25 teachers and a support staff larger than the entire school`s first year enrollment.

ECS serves families primarily from McPherson County, but extends as far out as a 45-mile radius from the school.  Students attend from Hesston, Moundridge, Buhler, Hutchinson, Mt. Hope, Inman, McPherson, Little River, Lindsborg, Salina, Galva, Canton, and Hillsboro.

Our academic record is excellent. Student standardized test score averages continually exceed far above average at all grade levels.  We maintain small class sizes, with an average student-teacher ratio of 14:1.

ECS offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, cross-country, track, art, choir, band, journalism, and drama. Students are encouraged daily in spiritual development through Bible classes and biblical integration in all subject areas.  Weekly chapels and student-led discipleship groups promote spiritual growth as well.
