Unified School District #232, a Gold Medal school district (Expansion Management Magazine), is located in northwest Johnson County, Kansas, and serves children from De Soto, Shawnee, Lenexa, a portion of Olathe, and the Lexington and Olathe Townships. De Soto School District, as it is commonly referred to, covers 100+ square miles of Johnson County, more than any other county school system.
