Cedar Vale USD 285 offers a positive working and learning environment where staff and faculty members are dedicated to the success and achievement of all students. We are a four-day week school with 161 teacher contract days. We are a proud Gemini II Redesign School and fully KESA accredited 2022. We did not pause and are in KESA cycle II.  Cedar Vale is nestled in the rolling hills of Chautauqua County.  We offer the best of rural living located just thirty minutes east of Arkansas City on HWY 166. We are in a prime location for rural outdoor living and just a short 60 mile drive to Bartlesville, OK or 85 miles to Wichita KS.  We received the 2018 and 2019 Challenge Award of Merit demonstrating our strong focus on our students and our goals. Our student achievement grows, academic rigor improves, and college/career readiness opportunities are expanding. Cedar Vale Schools offers excellent opportunities for teachers to enhance their career through a variety of teaching and coaching possibilities. We operate on a four-day week schedule Monday-Thursday and have a long-standing cooperative sports agreement with nearby Dexter School.  Our Spartan Athletic program continues to grow and compete at the District and State levels with great success. #PURPLECRUSH #BroncoStrong
