Burlingame is located within an hours driving distance of Topeka (20 miles), Lawrence (45 miles and home to The University of Kansas), Kansas City (60 miles), Manhattan (60 miles and home to Kansas State University), and Emporia (45 miles and home to Emporia State University). The Burlingame School District offers a rigorous academic regimen for all students that is challenging and thought provoking thus preparing them for whatever career path they might choose whether it be the workforce, technical school, junior college or college. Secondary students have the opportunity to earn dual credits through Allen Community College as it is located on the Burlingame campus. Students also have the opportunity to attend and earn a technical degree from Washburn Technical School due to a partnership between the Burlingame School District and Washburn Technical School located in Topeka, Kansas.
