Job Description

Lebo High School is seeking a passionate and skilled K-12 Music/Band Teacher to join our faculty for the upcoming academic year. The successful candidate will have experience teaching music and band to students of all ages and will be committed to providing a high-quality music education program for our students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive music education curriculum for K-12 students.
  2. Teach music and band classes to students of all ages and skill levels.
  3. Organize and direct school music ensembles such as the marching band, concert band, and pep band.
  4. Provide students with opportunities to participate in music competitions and performances.
  5. Foster a love of music and learning in all students.
  6. Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to support student learning and development.
  7. Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  8. Ensure that all school policies and procedures related to music education are followed.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor`s degree in Music Education.
  2. Kansas Teaching certification or licensure in K-12 Music Education
  3. Experience teaching music and band to K-12 students is preferred but not required.
  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
  6. Willingness to contribute to the school community outside of the music department.

USD 243 is located in the northern part of Coffey County and proudly serves the communities of Lebo and Waverly. Our district includes two 1A high schools—Lebo High School and Waverly High School—and two elementary schools that offer all-day kindergarten, preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds, and daycare for children ages 2½ to 5.
