School Improvement Specialist
Mize Elementary School
For the 2024-25 School Year

Purpose:  The School Improvement Specialist will mentor new staff, evaluate staff, support classroom instruction and best practice, provide professional development, assist professional learning communities, and support the  implementation of the building and district curriculum and assessment programs. The School Improvement Specialist will also be assigned additional duties and tasks, based on the experiences and     skills of the candidate, as determined by the Principal; such as managing budgets and conducting school-community relations support.

Qualifications: 

 

  • Masters Degree required - School Leadership Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of five years successful teaching experience in education required; leadership roles in education preferred
  • Must have a current Kansas teaching license (Administrator License preferred)
  • Demonstrated competence and/or experience in:
    • Leadership, management, and communication skills
    • Positive school climate development and maintenance
    • Developing positive school-community relations
    • Continuous school improvement practices
    • Best practice research
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong technology skills and commitment to technology as an instructional tool
    • Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing skills and job performance
    • Ability to react to change productively
    • Exemplary organizational skills, follow-through, and detail management
    • Willingness to support the philosophy and mission of USD 232

Requirements: All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If youve had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results.  If its been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test.  Employees are responsible for the cost of the test.
