Head Start is an early childhood education program serving income eligible pregnant women and families with children from ages 0-5. The Head Start program provides developmentally appropriate educational activities for young children and an opportunity for families to become involved in their child`s education. Head Start is funded with federal assistance through the Department of Health & Human Services and through state funding provided by the Department of Children & Families. There is no monetary cost to eligible families. The vision of SEK-CAP’s Head Start program is to serve every income eligible family/child in Southeast Kansas.
