Job Description (Title I Teacher or At-Risk – Supplemental Teacher) 

POSITION: Supplemental Teacher                                               

 Source of Funding: Title I

The person in this role will serve as the Title I/At-Risk teacher providing academic instruction to eligible students and perform tasks specific to Title I or At-Risk.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Assistant Superintendent of Federal Programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelor’s Degree; Specific Literacy Training or Master’s Degree preferred

·        Valid Kansas Teaching License

·        Must have experience teaching elementary, or secondary core content areas

·        Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, parents and the community

DUTIES:

·        Identify students eligible for program’s academic interventions.

·        Coordinate and provide strategic academic instruction to meet the individual needs of students – especially in reading and math.

·        Assist student support team in analyzing and determining the academic needs specific student population.

·        Assist with all aspects of School Improvement including plan development and implementation.

·        Assist teachers in the use of assessment data to guide and differentiate instruction.

·        Maintain and update student achievement data using various screenings.

·        Prepare lesson plans for interventions.

·        Provide communication to teachers regarding students’ academic progress.

·        Other duties as assigned by the building principal
