Anticipated Business Teacher - Grades 9-12

Basehor-Linwood has an open Business teaching position 9-12 for the 2022-2023 school year.  Coaching/sponsoring opportunities also may be available.

Position Specifics

• Provide formal instruction and leadership for a variety of courses supporting the Marketing Pathway and the Entrepreneurial Pathway. 

• Courses may include Intro to Business- Business Communication- Marketing- Entrepreneurship- among others. 

• Involvement and collaboration with our Innovation Academy which is a project-based academy focused on competency-based learning and an innovative environment.

Education or Verification of industry experience

• (Preferred) Bachelor`s degree from an accredited college or university and a valid Kansas Teaching Certificate with applicable level-area endorsements.

• (Alternative) Five (5) years of directly related verifiable experience in Business.

Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458 serves students and families in a 90 square mile area of southern Leavenworth County, Kansas. We currently have 8 district attendance centers. Our Early Learning Center for Childcare and Pre-K opened for the 2020-21 school year in August. K-5 buildings are located in Bonner Springs, Basehor and the Glenwood Ridge subdivision. A new K-5 building, located in Basehor, opened in the Fall 2021. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend Basehor-Linwood Middle School in Basehor, near the center of the district. Basehor-Linwood High School, located in Basehor, is a 5A school, serving students in grades 9 through 12. 

BLHS was named a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School. In addition, the district operates Basehor-Linwood Virtual School, an internet-based school serving approximately 250 K-12 students statewide instructed by Basehor-Linwood teachers.

Special Education services are provided by the Tonganoxie/Basehor-Linwood Special Education Cooperative located in Basehor.
