IEP Specialist

Responsibilities:

  • IEP Development
    • Develop and review IEPs with assigned staff members, throughout the school year.
    • Conduct/Supervise the assessment of special education students using curriculum based measures to establish information required in the PLAAFP section of the IEP.
    • Recommend specific instructional programs and models to target needs identified in the IEP.
    • Provide Training in the use of specific instructional models identified in student IEPs.
    • Assist with state mandated IEP file reviews
  • IEP Procedural Guidance
    • Review the SCKSEC IEP Manual and make recommendations for change to the director annually.
    • Collect, analyze and utilize data regarding procedural items for use with staff
    • Respond to staff IEP-related calls and emails.
    • Provide Supervisor/Directors with staff IEP-related data as requested.
    • Develop professional relationships with staff.
    • Maintain confidentiality of IEP information and staff feedback.
  • IEP Training
    • Provide annual training and support for new teachers at the beginning of each school year and throughout the year.
    • Other duties as assigned by SCKSEC administration

Qualifications:

  • Fully licensed in an area of Special Education
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal professional growth & learning
  • Experience with WebKIDSS preferred.
  • Experience with writing and implementing IEPs in the elementary and secondary settings.
  • Experience in a Special Education classroom.
  • Experience in special education law and compliance
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

SCKSEC offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes: BCBS Health Insurance with defined benefit based on current Negotiated Agreement, Section 125 Plan, 403b Plan, and Paid Sick and Personal leave. Current Base Salary begins at $40,000.

School districts served are: Pratt, Skyline, Macksville, St. John, Stafford, Kingman-Norwich, Cunningham, Anthony-Harper, Attica, Medicine Lodge, Kiowa, Haviland, Greensburg, Lewis, and Coldwater-Protection.  

In addition to the services provided in member district buildings, SCKSEC provides services at one alternative attendance center in Pratt and Life Skills Centers in Medicine Lodge and Kingman.
