Position Specifics Provide formal instruction and leadership for a variety of courses supporting the Marketing Pathway and the Entrepreneurial Pathway. Courses may include Intro to Business, Business Communication, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, among others. Involvement and collaboration with our Innovation Academy which is a project-based academy focused on competency-based learning and an innovative environment.
Education or Verification of industry experience (Preferred) Bachelor`s degree from an accredited college or university and a valid Kansas Teaching Certificate with applicable level-area endorsements. (Alternative) Five (5) years of directly related verifiable experience in Business. Employer Information Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458 serves students and families in a 90 square mile area of southern Leavenworth County, Kansas. We currently have 8 district attendance centers. Our Early Learning Center for Childcare and Pre-K opened for the 2020-21 school year in August. K-5 buildings are located in Bonner Springs, Basehor and the Glenwood Ridge subdivision. A new K-5 building, located in Basehor, opened in the Fall 2021. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend Basehor-Linwood Middle School in Basehor, near the center of the district. Basehor-Linwood High School, located in Basehor, is a 5A school, serving students in grades 9 through 12.
BLHS was named a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School. In addition, the district operates Basehor-Linwood Virtual School, an internet-based school serving approximately 250 K-12 students statewide instructed by Basehor-Linwood teachers.
Special Education services are provided by the Tonganoxie/Basehor-Linwood Special Education Cooperative located in Basehor. USD 458 is part of a vibrant, growing suburban area with expanding student population and tax base.
