STEM Lab/Title Aide

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Excellent English skills.
  2. Good interpersonal skills.
  3. Ability to relate well with elementary students and building staff.
  4. A thorough knowledge of relevant computer software and the willingness to troubleshoot technical problems of a tourine nature (i.e. e-mail, word processing, basic networking, printing).
  5. Demonstrated willingness to follow and uphold procedures related to the established USD 490 "Acceptable Use" guidlines and technology standards.
  6. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Ability to lift, carry and place objects of various size and weight. (minimum of 25 lbs.).
  8. Health and Inoculation Certificate on file.

Essential Functions:

  1. Routine organizational and management tasks of the computer lab.?
  2. Maintain a safe and secure computer lab for all parties concerened.
  3. Assist with the distribution, use and security of instructional technology under the direction of the district`s Technology Director.
  4. Proactively maintains an orderly, focused learning enviornment given that up to 25 students working on a variety of projects may be using the computer lab at any one time.
  5. Assist students in completion of tasks while in the Computer Lab.
  6. Provide appropriate student reports to teachers and building and district administrators as needed.
  7. Perform general clerical duties related to the position such as contacting technical services when difficulties aarise, etc.
  8. Assist in giving instructions in the use of standard software applications, in context and as required by the building principal and/or district technology director.
  9. Attends appropriate training to improve job understanding and skills as determined by the district`s Technology and Curriculum Directors.
  10. Assist building staff and perform other job related duties of comparable importanace, difficulty and responsibility as required (i.e. on-line assessments, software training, troubleshooting, etc).
  11. Is present in the lab to supervise students.
  12. Maintain additional mobile computer labs in assigned building.
  13. Other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

  1. Requires prolonged sitting or standing, and use of equipment including repetitive motions and computer eye fatigue.
  2. Ability to handle a fast-paced, intense work environment.
  3. Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments, with numerous interruptions.
