The Southwest Kansas Area Cooperative District (SKACD 613) is a special education interlocal that services 14 unified school districts in southwestern Kansas.  

 

SKACD 613 is seeking a full-time, on-site, Speech-Language Pathologist. However, we would also consider a part-time, remote and/or hybrid options. All SLPs must be fully licensed in the state of Kansas, regardless of the state of residence.

 

SKACD 613 is currently accepting applications for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in Dodge City, KS.  Multiple settings and age levels are available for teaching assignments.  However, multiple settings and age levels are available for teaching assignments. While the majority of our student population exists in Dodge City, this position may be itinerant depending on the needs of the districts we serve.
 

The SLP will be responsible to work with students with exceptionalities and their regular education teachers to allow them to access the general curriculum in the most appropriate environment.  SLPs are also expected to complete administrative tasks related to the procedural requirements of special education (IEP documentation, general education intervention participation, and completing annual meetings with parents to review each student’s progress toward their IEP goals.)
 

Our school district employs three instructional coaches and an internal IEP review process to assist new employees in the development of appropriate practices related to special education service delivery.  No experience with teaching special education?  No problem -- we can help!  We will also provide you a pathway to obtaining a master’s degree in special education while earning a full teaching salary.

 

The Speech-Language Pathologist is an important team member and is vital our agency`s success. Our SLPs have various duties (from working with teams on interventions, data collection, completing formal evaluations, and determining eligibility as part of the IEP team.)

 

SKACD serves both large (6A) and small (1A) school districts across Southwest Kansas and has an opportunity waiting for you. Multiple settings and age levels are available for teaching assignments. Benefits Information

Health insurance (single person) provided. 403(b) matching plan: up to $100/month. If you are not currently certified/endorsed in your area of special education, we will pay 100% of your master’s program to enable you to become certified. $10,000 towards student loan repayment; we will repay up to $1,000 per semester. This includes student loans you accrued prior to working for SKACD.

Salary Information

Base starting salary ~$60,000. Exact salary is determined by computations according to the 2021-2022 salary schedule, available at www.skacd.com Full years of experience are granted for previous certified work.
