Employer Information

The unified school district includes 244.5 square miles and has an elementary attendance center at Windom accommodating grades pre-kindergarten through sixth grade;  a junior high school at Little River serving students in grades seventh and eighth and a senior high school at Little River serving students in grades ninth through twelfth.  Additionally, our high school students have the opportunity to attend several educational opportunities outside our school walls.  Numerous Internet educational opportunities also are made available to students.  There are approximately 300 students attending schools in our district.  The district transports over 200 students daily. The faculty and staff includes nearly 60 employees whose sole purpose is educating the youth of our district.  While each of us has different responsibilities toward meeting that goal, it is only through the combined efforts of all of us that we can do the best job possible. We offer a full range of educational and extra-curricular opportunities.  We are a member of the Rice County Special Services Cooperative and the Educational Services and Staff Development Association of Central Kansas.  The vast majority of our high school graduates continue their education beyond high school. The community considers the education of their young people a high priority as is evidenced by the investments of both time and money in our school system. Due to our bond construction being completed, we now have new up to date state of the art facilities for students and staff.
