The secondary special education teacher should be properly licensed to teach special education, or be eligible and willing to obtain a license in special education.  Minimum licensure for employment is an Emergency Substitute license from KSDE. The special education teacher will be responsible to work with special education students and their regular education teachers to allow the students to access the general curriculum in the least restrictive environment. They will also complete IEPs requirements, attend and/or run IEP meetings, and complete other duties that will benefit students with disabilities.
