K-12 Counselor- 4 Day School Week

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Counselor to join our team, focusing on providing comprehensive counseling services to students from preschool to grade 12. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Individual Plans of Study, Social/Emotional Curriculum, and Post-Secondary Competencies. The School Counselor will play a crucial role in fostering the development of students by working collaboratively with students, parents, and community members.

Responsibilities: 

Individual Plans of Study (IPS): Develop, implement, and review Individual Plans of Study to ensure that each student`s academic, career, and personal goals are effectively addressed.

Social/Emotional Curriculum: Design and deliver social and emotional learning programs that promote a positive school environment and enhance students` interpersonal and emotional skills.

Post-Secondary Competencies: Provide guidance and support to students in exploring post-secondary education and career pathways, helping them make

Provide individual counseling and group guidance to help students cope effectively with personal, social, academic, career, and family concerns. 

Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and supporting agencies concerning the educational needs and abilities of students. 

Coordinate and supervise appropriate counseling field trips, college visits, etc... 

Update and maintain confidential student records, including cumulative transcripts and student files. 

Attend and assist when necessary with school events such as music programs, athletics, student recognition ceremonies, graduation, etc 

Keep student records confidential. 

Work with classroom teachers to meet the counseling needs of students. 

Serve as team leader as part of the General Education Intervention team. 

Implement an effective program of educational and career planning 

Work with students to update schedules and ensure appropriate monitoring of fouryear plans. 

 Help students evaluate career interests and choices. 

Supervise the preparation and processing of college, scholarship, employment applications. 

Makes recommendations to colleges for admissions and scholarships. 

Assists students in resolving conflicts. 

Coordinates with classroom teachers to meet   

See that district policies are observed during all activities. 

Obtain advance approval of the Principal for all activities and expenditures. 

Adhere to all district health and safety policies, including all precautions of the Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan. 

Other duties as assigned by Principal or Superintendent
