USD 473 educators demonstrate a commitment to provide a safe and positive learning environment, which will empower all students to learn and achieve to their maximum potential and become responsible, productive citizens.
Qualifications
- The minimum of a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
- A valid Kansas Teachers Certificate (applicable level-area endorsements preferred).
- Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience.
- Evidence of the willingness and the ability to comply with the standards for ethical and professional performance established by the State Board of Education.

- Modifies teaching to meet individual student needs
- Creates a positive and safe learning environment
- Communicates high expectations to all learners
- Incorporates use of appropriate technology
- Routinely integrates a variety of informal and formal assessments into instruction
- Communicates realistic and consistent expectations for student behavior and applies appropriate consequences
- Uses monitoring techniques to facilitate learning
- Demonstrates knowledge of how subject matter/disciplines are integrated
- Sponsors exhibits outside the school
- Communicates effectively and promotes positive interpersonal relationships
- Oversees assigned budgets
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal or superintendent may assign
