Responsibilities include using various texts and resources to develop quality lesson plans and curricula, teaching students to analyze a variety of text formats, emphasizing college and career readiness, and fostering good relationships. Candidates should be comfortable adhering to local policy and procedure and be open to feedback.  Tolerance of differing opinions and the ability to foster a learning environment based on dignity and respect are necessary.  Preferred traits include being approachable, caring, and the ability to convey passion about the subject to students.

  4. Assessing student learning in a variety of ways
  5. Punctual record keeping
  6. Ensuring all curriculum, school, and state requirements are met
  7. Expanding educational networks and participating in professional development opportunities
  8. Modeling and encouraging use of technology in the classroom

Barber County North USD 254 serves students and families in a 718 square mile area of Medicine Lodge, KS, in Barber and Pratt Counties. PreK-12 Students attend one of two attendance centers. Students in PreK-6  attend Medicine Lodge Grade School, and Medicine Lodge Junior/ Senior High School is a 2A school serving students in grades 7 through 12.
