Special Education - Multi-Level Special Education Teacher August 2023Seaman USD 345 • www.seamanschools.org This teacher serves a small caseload (5-8 students) of students with autism and intellectual disabilities. There is an exceptional para-professional team in this classroom.The classroom with a kitchen- laundry room- and bathroom is slated for a total remodel this Summer. In addition to the contracted salary- Special Education Teachers in Seaman get an additional 7% (from the base) stipend. Seaman High School has a GREAT special education team that collaborates and works well together for students and families. Support staff for the 12 teachers at SHS and students include: Special Education Instructional Coach- Behavior Specialist- School Psychologist- two Social Workers- as well as the other related service providers. Seaman USD 345 is seeking a full-time secondary low incidence special education teacher for the 2023-24 school year. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching students with varying needs in a variety of settings (general education classroom and special education classroom)- writing and implementing an IEP- supervising paraprofessionals- working collaboratively with general education teachers- administrators- and families. Must have a degree from an accredited college or university and hold or meet requirements to obtain a KS teaching certificate (grades 7-12). Must hold or be meet requirements for special education endorsement through KSDE. Seaman USD 345 will entertain Regular Education endorsed applicants that are interested in teaching Special Education- and willing to begin requirements to obtain a special education endorsement.
