7-12 PE & Weights Position

USD 403, Otis-Bison, is accepting applications for a 7 - 12 Physical Education and Weights position available beginning the 2024 - 25 school year. Duties would include 7th and 8th grade PE, 9th grade PE and Health, 9 - 12th Weightlifting/Strength Training and Competition Weights.  Supplemental positions available include the summer weights (starting summer 2024) program, head high school football and junior high track, as well as other assistant coaching positions.  Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Kansas State Teaching License.   Position open until filled.

U.S.D.#403, Otis-Bison takes pride in serving a rural community that supports public education.  The school buildings are located in Otis, which is located in eastern Rush County.  Currently the enrollment is 195 students housed in two buildings, Pre-K through fifth grade and sixth through twelve. U.S.D. 403 continues to score well on state assessments and is proud to have a graduation rate higher than the state average.  

 

Individual Google Chromebooks are supplied to students in grades six through twelve and students in grades Kindergarten through five have individual i-Pads.  

 

Otis-Bison Elementary also offers educational services for pre-school students and a district day care is also available during school days.

 

Several dual credit classes are offered at the high school level.  Online programs are also offered to students to enrich their curriculum opportunities as well as being offered for credit recovery to provide students options to stay on track for graduation.

 

Many extracurricular activities are available to Otis-Bison students.  Junior High students can participate in football, volleyball, basketball, track, KAYS, Scholar`s Bowl and STUCO.  High School students can participate in football, volleyball, basketball, track, weights, cross-country, forensics, KAYS, SADD, Scholar`s Bowl, school play and STUCO.
