Library/Tech Instructional Aide

USD 320, Wamego, has a vacancy for a Technology/Library Instructional Aide in grades 3-5 at West Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year.  The approximate start date for this position is the week of August 7.  This is not a certified teaching position; however, this Instructional Aide will serve as an instructor for technology classes, as well as Explore classes (STEM combined with other project based learning) in collaboration with the Library Media specialist. Planning and delivering instruction is one of the main job functions, as well as assisting in the library. Instructional aides may be asked to cover classrooms as substitute teachers when needed. Required qualifications include a college degree. Preferred candidates will have a valid teaching license.

Compensation is as follows:  $15.05 an hour for candidates with a bachelor’s degree; $16.90 an hour for candidates with a valid Kansas Teaching License. 

Candidates will work the same days as classroom teachers, including professional development days and workdays. Hours are approximately 7:30am until 3:30pm.  Knowledge of educational best practices for elementary students is preferred.  In addition to providing instruction to classes of students, Instructional Aides will also perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.  This position will be offered a complete benefit package, including health and supplemental insurance, and KPERS retirement.
