We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music/Band Teacher to join our educational team, providing comprehensive music education for students in grades K-12. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of music theory, instrument instruction, and ensemble management to foster a love and appreciation for music in students of all ages.

Qualifications:

Bachelor`s degree in Music Education or related field

State teaching certification or licensure.

Proven experience teaching music, with a focus on instrumental instruction and ensemble direction.

Strong knowledge of K-12 music education curriculum and instructional methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development:

Develop and implement a well-rounded and engaging music curriculum aligned with national and state standards for each grade level.

Integrate various music genres, historical periods, and cultures into the curriculum to broaden students` musical knowledge.

Instrument Instruction:

Provide specialized instruction on a variety of musical instruments to students at different skill levels.

Organize and lead group lessons, ensuring each student receives personalized attention and guidance.

Ensemble Direction:

Direct and conduct school bands and musical ensembles, fostering a collaborative and disciplined environment.

Coordinate and organize regular rehearsals, concerts, and performances showcasing students` musical achievements.

Music Theory Education:

Teach fundamental music theory concepts, including notation, rhythm, harmony, and composition.

Encourage students to develop critical thinking skills through the exploration of music theory.

Individualized Support:

Provide individualized support and guidance to students with varying skill levels and interests in music.

Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other educators and staff to integrate music into interdisciplinary learning experiences.

Work closely with parents and guardians to communicate students` progress and involve them in their musical education.
