The college serves approximately 3,400 students (FTE: 1,497) on the main campus in Fort Scott and its satellite locations in Paola, Kansas; Frontenac, Kansas; and Pittsburg, Kansas.  The college offers Associate Degrees in Arts, Science, General Studies, and Applied Studies.  FSCC also offers multiple certificate programs in business, cosmetology, construction trades and healthcare.  Of particular interest are the college's regionally unique programs in environmental water technology; truck driving; a John Deere sponsored agriculture technology program; and a Harley-Davidson sponsored program in motorcycle maintenance.

Athletic highlights from the past year include Region VI and KJCCC DII Men's Basketball Championships, National Intercollegiate Rodeo Coach of the Year, a volleyball team on the Divsion II NJCAA national polls and fielding the number one running back in the NJCAA.

The main FSCC campus is located in historic Fort Scott, Kansas (population: 8,087) approximately two hours south of Kansas City on the border between Kansas and Missouri.  The campus features two fishing lakes, a restored one-room schoolhouse and the Gordon Parks Museum.  The city of Fort Scott is home to the Fort Scott National Historic Site, several museums and easy access to several recreational areas such as Gunn Park, the Woodland Hills Golf Course and Lake Fort Scott.
