USD 320, the Wamego Public School system, is accepting applications for a Family and Community Resource Liaison to serve the families of Central and West Elementary Schools, beginning 2024-2025 school year.
Job Description
The job of Family and Community Resource Liaison is established for the purpose/s of:
Location Central Elementary School & West Elementary Schools
Reports to The Principals of the Central and West Elementary Schools
Essential Functions
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practices; applying assessment instruments; operating standard office equipment; performing standard bookkeeping; planning and managing projects; preparing and maintaining accurate records; and using pertinent software applications.
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent`s, and/or ratios; read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: accounting/bookkeeping principles; business telephone etiquette; concepts of grammar and punctuation; health standards and hazards; safety practices and procedures; stages of child development; and age appropriate activities.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities, meetings, and/or events; gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing defined and similar processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data may require independent interpretation; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: communicating with diverse groups; maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working as part of a team; working with detailed information/data; and working with frequent interruptions.
Responsibility Responsibilities include: working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and tracking budget expenditures. Utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job`s functions. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organizations services.
Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job`s functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
Experience Job related experience is preferred
Education Bachelors degree in a job related area; Social Work preferred.
