POSITION: Behavior Facilitator


PURPOSE: The Behavior Facilitator assists with the provision of an optimal learning environment for
students with social- emotional and behavioral needs.


QUALIFICATIONS:


? Masters Degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university in Social Work or Special
Education (high incidence) or Ed.S. in School Psychology
? Valid Kansas license from KSDE or Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board
? Experience working with children and youth with mental health and behavioral concerns
? All required documents- including copy of license- on file at the district office


REPORTS TO: Special Education Administrators and Building Principal(s)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


? Facilitates student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academics-
social skill awareness- appropriate behavior and problem solving.
? Collaborates with school teams (administrative staff- general and special
education teachers- related service providers and paraeducators) in the planning
and implementation of strategies and interventions for students with behavioral
and/or mental health needs.
? Coaches staff on the management of student behavior for the purpose of
providing a safe and optimal learning environment.
? Provides professional development related to social emotional learning- behavior
interventions- trauma informed practices and specific student needs to all
relevant school personnel.
? Supports general education teachers for the purpose of assisting them in the
implementation of established curriculum and individual student plans.
? Collects and organizes data.
? Assists in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and developing
Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
? Assists in implementing BIPs for the purpose of providing an effective program
that addresses individual student needs.
? Assists with the development of individual education plan goals regarding
behavior- self-regulation and social skills for student IEPs for the purpose of
establishing strategies/opportunities for student success.
? Monitors student progress.
? Provides crisis intervention.
? Assists parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources.

? Ensures activities conform to Federal- State and District regulations and/or
guidelines.
? Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by Special
Education Administrators and Building Principals.

dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in the work environment. Regular attendance
and/or physical presence at the job is required.
