Benefits Information

The district will pay a portion of the single health insurance plan. The district also offers a continuing education program. Additional Vocal and Band Stipends will be given for time spent outside the regular contract day. These stipends are set according to USD 386 Supplemental Salary Schedule.

Salary Information

Successful candidates will be placed on the USD 386 salary schedule according to education and experience.

USD 386 Madison-Virgil Schools (www.usd386.net) is located in Madison, KS. Madison is a rural community located 20 minutes south of Emporia. The school consists of a Pre-K3-6 building and a 7-12 building with approximately 250 students, 30 teachers and 2 administrators. The school was fully accredited during the 2022-2023 school year with the following Kansans Can Star Recognitions: bronze in Social-Emotional Growth, gold in Graduation, copper in Postsecondary Effectiveness and the Commissioner’s Award.

The elementary school has the following to offer:

-After-school programming through the Early Childhood Learning Center and AfterZone. 

-Outdoor Learning Center that includes a Greenhouse, chickens, and a recycling center to enrich classroom learning with real-world experiences.

-Strong Pre-K3-12 agricultural program.

The junior/senior high school offers:

-JumpStart program where students can earn 18 hours of college credit tuition-free.

-Pathways in the following areas; Graphic Design, Business Finance, Animal Science and Comprehensive Ag Science.

 -May attend Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia tuition-free as a junior and/or senior.

-Growing fine arts and performing arts curriculum.

-Driver’s Education during the school day.

-10:1 teacher to student ratio.

-Cross country, volleyball, football, basketball, track and field and golf teams.

-Strong Pre-K3-12 agricultural program.

-New FFA building built on donations from the community
