This position instructs students in lessons and activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth in subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:     Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Teaches district approved curriculum.
  2. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
  3. Prepares for assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
  4. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
  5. Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects.
  6. Recognizes learning problems in students and makes appropriate accommodations.
  7. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
  8. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
  9. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  10. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct; develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; and maintains order.
  11. Is available to students and parents for educational-related purposes outside of the instructional day.
  12. Maintains confidentiality of student information.

Salary Information

Starting salary currently $41,250 with a bachelor's degree, higher depending upon experience and graduate hours. Salary will be determined by placement on the salary schedule and based on FTE. New teachers are paid $400 for New Teacher Orientation.
