High School ESOL Teacher

Position Summary
ESOL teachers prepare course materials in a variety of curricular areas and design lessons that cover all aspects of the English language, whether written or verbal. They collaborate with core subject instructors and monitor student progress as they customize individualized plans for students. ESOL teachers are also responsible for creating a positive class environment and encouraging students to reach their learning goals.
Responsibilities

• Organize and adjust coursework and learning materials as appropriate for each student
• Instruct students and provide academic support
• Assess student progress, write and submit all required reports; maintain accurate student records
• Follow federal, state and local policies for teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Language) and/or ESL (English as a Second Language)
• Limited supervisory duties with ESOL Support Staff
• Perform other duties as assigned
