Clinical Audiologist

Greenbush - The Education Service Center is seeking applications for a Clinical Audiologist.

Anticipated start date: July 1, 2023. Position will remain open until filled.

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Clinical Audiologist is to provide diagnostic audiology services to children aged birth through high school at the TARC Audiology Clinic located in Topeka, KS.

Valid driver’s license required for employment. REAL ID is required if air travel is necessary to complete job duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

1. Hold a Master’s Degree or Doctorate (AuD) in Audiology
2. Hold or be eligible to obtain a Kansas Audiology License
3. Must be able to change schedule and daily routine on short notice
4. Effectively communicate solutions to complex problems

Preferred:

1. Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association or its equivalent
2. Knowledge of technology and video conferencing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

1. Provide community leadership to ensure that all infants, toddlers, and youth with impaired hearing are promptly identified,
evaluated, and provided with appropriate intervention services.
2. Collaborate as requested with community agencies (ie. hospitals, health departments, Early Head Start, Birth to Three, Parents as Teachers) for hearing services and training. Manage the calibration of audiometric equipment.
3. Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations in the clinical setting. Interpret audiological assessment results for parents/families.
4. Make appropriate referrals for further audiological, communication, educational, psychosocial, or medical assessment.
5. Make recommendations regarding placement, related service needs, communication needs, and modification of classroom
environments for students with hearing impairments or other auditory impairments.
6. Perform Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing and interpretation.

General Responsibilities:

7. Assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with literature, research, and/or practices.
8. Demonstrate proficiency in ability to effectively and regularly communicate with other employees of the SEKESC and constituents.
9. Complete all assignments in a timely manner including communication with other staff and families.
10. Follow all safety requirements as directed by the SEKESC.
11. Regular and predictive attendance in designated work location as determined by the Executive Director or designee.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Lifting up to 40 pounds.
2. Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
3. Sit/stand for long periods of time.
4. Work in loud/stressful environments.
5. Ability to drive in varying weather and geographical conditions.
6. Being exposed to infectious and contagious diseases.
7. Being exposed to hazardous materials.
8. Being exposed to work settings that offer a risk to personal security and that are not ADA compliant.
